Whatever It Takes

I’ve come to think that medical doctors should also be a good salesman.   When my father got hospitalized because of heart problem, he got a very good doctor.  I said he is a good doctor because he takes time to explain to us the action of every medicine that he prescribed.    My father,  whenever he takes his medicine will always recall what his doctor has told him about that certain medicine.    This certainly helped a lot on the part of my father not just the action of the drug per se but also psychologically.   My father believes and knows exactly what is the action of the drug for his ailment.   In contrast their are doctors who will just scribble a prescription and hand in to you without even telling you the action of the drug not even the side effects.   Well, not unless the patient has a strong faith on his doctor and you firmly believe to whatever medicine your doctor prescribe can certainly heal you.     That is why we have this so called faith healing.  The benefit of explaining to your patient on the particular medicine you prescribe can enhance healing process.    The mind is incredibly powerful and sometimes,  getting well is as much a matter of will-power as it is of treatment.   Much more if the patient has the knowledge of his particular medication.    Your body will respond quickly to your medication because our brain is so powerful that it gives signal to every cells in our body.

I have here something that interest me a lot.   Through our hands we can tell what kind of a person are we.  For me,  it is very true.  Try to look at your hands and check what is the shape and  read the corresponding meaning as written below.   It’s really interesting to know more our personality. The Pointed Hand This hand is characteristic of its delicacy and grace. It has an almond shape where it is wider and round at the base and narrower as you move up towards pointed fingers. The thumb may also be long and flexible. The hand is often pale in colour, and the lines are often shallow. Less of a doer, appreciates art and beauty. Typical occupations include, hair-styling arts, cosmetic industry.

The Square Hand This hand is smooth and firm. The palm is usually as wide as it is long, and it has a fairly square base. The fingers also have a square nature, and they can be short or long, and smooth and knotted. There tends to be few lines, however deep and clear. A balanced and earthy person, solid values and energy, materialistic and practical. Typical occupations include, successful business men who often use their hands.

The Coned-Shaped Hand This hand is characteristic of its tubular fingers and smooth round base. It is broader at the base and tends to be fairly flat as well. Tapers a bit. Wavy lines. A philosopher, inventive and creative, interested in theory as well. Typical occupations include, educators, lawyer and artists.

The Spade-Shaped Hand This hand is characteristic of its square base. The base is also narrower than the top of the palm. Displays knotty fingers, as well as fairly broad and square. An inventor, a do-it yourself type of person, great manual dexterity. Typical occupations include, engineer, decorator, mechanic.

The Mixed Hand

This hand is at first difficult to point out, they also do not simply represent a mixture of the other types of hands. The has a mixture of shapes, where it is square at the base of the thumb and oval or rounded at the heel. The fingers also have diverse characteristics. Some knuckles may be smooth in some areas and knotty in others.

The death news of pop icon Michael Jackson has rocked the whole world bringing a lot of speculations about his death.  Most of his fans and even I are now in the state of denial.  Wherein we are thinking and hoping that this could just be a planned scenario to get away of all his trials and tribulations.  Yes I am hoping it was like that.   Everything is possible now, right?  I don’t want him to die……  He was accused of pedophilia but I don’t care.  He is not alone who committed that crime….only he is so popular that all his activity is being monitored and magnified.   This is the price that he is paying for being a king of pop music.   We cannot blame also the news industry because this is their business.  What is bad is when they will fabricate stories just to create  news scoop.    As of this writing I know the police are still investigating the real story of his alleged death.   As far as I’m concern unless a complete report will be released, I will remain to think that it was a planned scenario.    I may appear weird but I’m sure their are millions of us who are weird now.   How about you?   What are you thinking?

This was forwarded to me by my daughter but she got this from a friend who also sent her this wonderful story.   It touches me that when I was about to finished reading a tear just fell out from my eyes.  I wanted to keep and share this story to everyone that’s why I posted this in my blog.   Lets read this and reflect……

My wife called, ‘How long will you be with that newspaper? Will you
come here and make your darling daughter eat her food?

I tossed the paper away and rushed to the scene. My only daughter,
Sindu, looked frightened; tears were welling up in her eyes. In front of
her was a bowl filled to its brim with curd rice. Sindu is a nice child,
quite intelligent for her age.

I cleared my throat and picked up the bowl. ‘Sindu, darling, why don’t
you take a few mouthful of this curd rice? Just for Dad’s sake, dear’.

Sindu softened a bit and wiped her tears with the back of her hands.
‘Ok, Dad. I will eat - not just a few mouthfuls, but the whole lot of
this. But, you should…’ Sindu hesitated. ‘Dad, if I eat this entire
curd Rice, will you give me whatever I ask for?’

‘Promise’. I covered the pink soft hand extended by my daughter with
mine, and clinched the deal. Now I became a bit anxious. ‘Sindu, dear,
you shouldn’t insist on getting a computer or any such expensive items.
Dad does not have that kind of money right now. Ok?’

‘No, Dad. I do not want anything expensive’. Slowly and painfully, she
finished eating the whole quantity. I was silently angry with my wife and
my mother for forcing my child to eat something that she detested.

After the ordeal was through, Sindu came to me with her eyes wide with
expectation. All our attention was on her.

‘Dad, I want to have my head shaved off, this Sunday!’ was her demand.

‘Atrocious!’ shouted my wife, ‘A girl child having her head shaved off?
Impossible!’

‘Never in our family!’ My mother rasped. ‘She has been watching too
much of television. Our culture is getting totally spoiled with these TV
programs!’

‘Sindu, darling, why don’t you ask for something else? We will be sad
seeing you with a clean-shaven head.’

‘Please, Sindu, why don’t you try to understand our feelings?’ I tried
to plead with her.

‘Dad, you saw how difficult it was for me to eat that Curd Rice’.
Sindu was in tears. ‘And you promised to grant me whatever I ask for.
Now, you are going back on your words? Was it not you who told me the
story of King Harishchandra, and its moral that we should honor our
promises no matter what?’

It was time for me to call the shots. ‘Our promise must be kept.’

‘Are you out of your mind?’ chorused my mother and wife.

‘No. If we go back on our promises, she will never learn to honor her
own. Sindu, your wish will be fulfilled.’

With her head clean-shaven, Sindu had a round-face, and her eyes
looked big and beautiful.

On Monday morning, I dropped her at her school. It was a sight to
watch my hairless Sindu walking towards her classroom. She turned around
and waved. I waved back with a smile. Just then, a boy alighted from a
car, and shouted, ‘Sinduja, please wait for me!’ What struck me was the
hairless head of that boy. ‘May be, that is the in-stuff’, I thought.

‘Sir, your daughter Sinduja is great indeed!’ Without introducing
herself, a lady got out of the car, and continued, ‘that boy who is
walking along with your daughter is my son Harish. He is suffering
from… leukemia‘. She paused to muffle her sobs. ‘Harish could not
attend the school for the whole of the last month. He lost all his hair
due to the side effects of the chemotherapy. He refused to come back to
school fearing the unintentional but cruel teasing of the schoolmates.

Sinduja visited him last week, and promised him that she will take care
of the teasing issue. But, I never imagined she would sacrifice her
lovely hair for the sake of my son! Sir, you and your wife are blessed to
have such a noble soul as your daughter.’

I stood transfixed and then, I wept.. ‘My little Angel, you are teaching
me how selfless real love is!’

The happiest people on this planet are not those who live on their own
terms but are those who change their terms for the ones whom they love !!

This topic really interest me the fact that it’s worth knowing why do some people are more attractive.    Sometimes we wonder why does this guy/gal is so popular even if they are not beautiful.   I’m sure it’s not only me who raises this question.   As I was browsing the net, I encountered a reading that shed light on our questions.   According to the article our level of attractiveness is not constant but it keeps changing continuously based on our actions, behavior and thoughts.  We don’t have to undergo plastic surgery in order to become attractive nor we become depressed if we don’t like our looks, simply because our level of attractiveness can be manually changed.

Attraction happens on the unconscious level which means that logic has nothing to do with the process. Women become attracted to men who posses masculine traits because this gives them the sense of protection they are looking for. This means that making your voice deeper, standing tall, working out to build muscles or stretching our shoulders can become 10 times more attractive.   People who appear to be self assured, who don’t act in a clumsy way and who seem to know where are they going are perceived to be very attractive by everyone. You won’t only attract potential partners by acting confident but you will make more friends and have more fans.   An experiement was made and some men were shown pictures of various women.   It was found that the smile increased the perceived attractiveness of women who used to look normal.    It was also found that charismatic people are perceived to be much more attractive  than normal people.  Make sure you walk confidently, maintain eye contact and use the body language confidence gestures.

As I am sitting here in my office reading an online article about affirmation, one technique that I have read about positive affirmation is Journaling.    It is the process of regularly writing your thoughts, your dreams, milestones, events and feelings down on paper. There are many different kinds of journal you can choose to keep but it is a powerful process that provides the opportunity to explore things in a measured way.   It can also be fun to look back and discover how far you have come!    I am thinking of practicing this technique or method by using my blog site.   So today am writing my positive affirmation and lets see if it works……

1.  Two months from now my online bf will visit me.

2.  I will receive a court order granting my petition to free me from my married status.

3.  My finances is secured and growing.

4.  I am happier in my second marriage.

5.  My family are physically healthy now.

6.  I will get a long vacation in September 2009.

7.  I will drive my own car by December 2009.

8.  I am successful in my work as an HR.

There it is, I cant think of anything else to write.   I choose to limit it first to 8 events.     I will tell you next time what’s the result to this Journal Affirmation Method that I am trying.

If you want something, give it away! This sounds crazy….right?  It has been said that you get more of what you want by giving away some of what you have.   Look…when a farmer wants more seeds, he takes his seeds and gives them to the earth.   When we want a smile, you give yours.   When we want affection, we give affection.   When you help people, they help you.   When you want a smack in the mouth.   You have to smack someone.  And if you want people to give you money….share some of yours.

Think about it.   According to a book, if attachment hinders the flow of good things into your life, then the opposite of that would be unattachment - to the point where we give away some of what we value.   What you give away will tend to come back to you.

A question was raised….WHAT ABOUT THOSE WEALTHY OLD MISERS WHO NEVER GAVE ANYBODY ANYTHING???

How often do we hear this kind of story…..”a penny-pinching old tightfist, who lived on bread crust, dies with a million dollars parked under his bed?   It begs a question:  “If you have to give in order to receive, what happen here?”

The balance in our bank book is not the measure of our abundance.  Abundance is what’s circulating through your life.  Prosperity is a flow - giving and receiving.  If you have a fortune in Swiss deposits, and you’re not using it, then it’s not enriching you.   Technically it’s yours, but in reality you’re “receiving” nothing from it.   It’s not making you abundant and it might as well belong to someone else.   So the principle of giving and receive holds, even here.

The trick to giving is to give without wanting anything back.  If you expect something in return, you are attached to a result - and when you are attached, less happens.

And should you enjoy your material possessions?   Of course!!! Just make sure you own them and they don’t own you.

Robotic Bed

While I was browsing the net looking for some bed designs for our guesthouse, I was able to find this robotic bed.  This is really amazing and worth looking for in real.   Try to watch the video and tell me how does it appeal to you.

I have made an effort to browse the net and search for a wonderful reading that I can send to my friend who is diagnosed of brain cyst.   I wanted to help her overcome her negative thoughts concerning her ailment.  I made the effort to contact the person whom I knew who also suffered the same ailment.  This person undergone brain operation and he is fully healed now.   I gave her the name of the surgeon who handled the operation.   In this way,  she can draw idea on who to get second opinion.    I’m also sharing her the story of a friend who survived this kind of ailment to eradicate hopelessness.     During our conversation, I felt that she has fear on what might happen to her after an operation.    I interrupted her negative thoughts but the fact that she has already heard of some remote stories in which the operation turned out to be a failure,  she could not help but think of it.    I know that she is a strong woman but considering that this ailment is dreadful, we cannot discount the feeling of uncertainty.   I was able to find this tips on how to help us develop positive thinking.   I firmly believe that positive thinking can help her ameliorate /cope with her predicament.    I am sharing this to everyone with the hope that somebody who is in the same situation can also benefit this.

Here are a few actions and tips to help you develop the power of positive thinking:

Always use only positive words while thinking and while talking. Use words such as, ‘I can’, ‘I am able’, ‘it is possible’, ‘it can be done’, etc.

Allow into your awareness only feelings of happiness, strength and success.

Try to disregard and ignore negative thoughts. Refuse to think such thoughts, and substitute them with constructive happy thoughts.

In your conversation use words that evoke feelings and mental images of strength, happiness and success.

Before starting with any plan or action, visualize clearly in your mind its successful outcome. If you visualize with concentration and faith, you will be amazed at the results.

Read at least one page of inspiring book every day.

Watch movies that make you feel happy.

Minimize the time you listen to the news and read the papers.

Associate yourself with people who think positively.

Always sit and walk with your back straight. This will strengthen your confidence and inner strength.

Walk, swim or engage in some other physical activity. This helps to develop a more positive attitude.

This applies to all our endeavor in life.   Let’s practice positive thinking everyday and expect a positive outcome.   Think positive and only expect favorable results and situations, even if your current circumstances are not as you wish them to be.    In time our mental attitude will affect our life and circumstances and change them accordingly.
